WaCatta
(lit: I Understand) was a short-lived Japanese magazine aimed
towards the 30ish male Japanese executive. I believe there were
less than six issues total of this monthly magazine published
in 1996-1997. This is issue Number 3.
The wonders
of the internet and the overwhelming generosity of others was
once again proven to me when after several months of fruitless
searching for a copy of this issue I finally wrote directly to
the publisher in Japan. To my pleasant surprise, I not only received
a response from the publisher, but they graciously sent me a complimentary
copy of this issue! And this was after they had already ceased
publication. Domo Arigato Gozaimasu (Thank You Very Much) to the
publisher for their generosity.
But the story
doesn't end there. Now I had the issue, but couldn't make heads
or tails of the text. A request for help in translation was answered
by our fellow Joey fan Seiya, who generously translated the entire
article. Sadly,
I've lost contact with Seiya, but once again a very, very big
Domo Arigato Gozaimasu to you Seiya!
